The Austrian province Lower Austria plans to build a new museum, the so-called Landesgalerie Niederösterreich in the UNESCO World Heritage site Wachau Cultural Landscape. The impact of the new building on the Outstanding Universal Value of the World Heritage property therefore had to be evaluated through a Heritage Impact Assessment. Recommendations for further operation corridors had to be developed on the basis of the assessment.
