Heritage Impact Assessment of the "Master Plan for the Development of Functional Region South Dalmatia" with Strategic Environmental Assessment

Croatia is currently developing a concept for the establishment of so-called 'functional regions' aimed at the future development of the country. In this context, a master plan is under development for the Southern Dalmatian region in order to provide a new traffic concept which includes the construction of a new motorway as a new traffic solution for the UNESCO World Heritage site Old Town of Dubrovnik.

In addition to assessing the impact of planning on the Outstanding Universal Value of this World Heritage property, Heritage Impact Assessments have also been applied to two Cultural Heritage sites which are on the Croatian tentative list (Kurtula and Ston).
