Feasibility study World Heritage Schloss Gottorf

Due to a cabinet decision on 7 August 2012, the Foundation of Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesmuseen was asked to develop a feasibility study on the potential of a possible nomination of the Schloss Gottorf palace. In particular, the intention was to include the former chapel of the palace in the nomination as an early example of Protestant church architecture in connection with the outstanding significance of this place for musical development in the 17th century.

An international expert panel carried out a review of both the quality of the construction heritage of the Schloss Gottorf palace as well as the related intangible legacy associated with the Gottorfer Hofmusik chapel in connection with a possible nomination for the UNESCO World Heritage List.
